A mommy makeover is not a packaged product. Total cost varies based on which procedures are combined, operative time, implant brand, hospital admission length, and individual medical complexity. We provide a personalised, all-inclusive written quote after consultation. The quote contains every fee — no surprise charges.
What does the cost include?
Every quote from Dr. Erdal's clinic includes the following:
- Surgeon's fee — for Dr. Erdal personally performing the operation.
- Anaesthesiology — board-certified anaesthesiologist for the entire operative time.
- Hospital fees — JCI-accredited private hospital, including operating theatre, post-anaesthesia care unit, inpatient room (1–2 nights).
- Implants — premium brand of patient choice (Mentor, Motiva, or Polytech) with manufacturer lifetime warranty.
- Pre-operative tests — blood work, ECG, anaesthesiology consultation.
- Compression garments — abdominal binder and surgical bra.
- Pain medication — full post-operative pain management protocol.
- Drain management — drains placement, daily monitoring, removal.
- Personal follow-ups in Istanbul — daily check-ins by Dr. Erdal for the duration of stay.
- Long-term remote follow-up — video consultations at 1, 3, 6, and 12 months post-op.
- VIP airport transfers — Mercedes Vito or equivalent, both arrival and departure.
- Hotel coordination — partner hotel suite booking. Companion stays free.
- Translator services — clinic team operates in English; Arabic, German, French translators available on request.
What does the cost not include?
- Flight tickets. Patient organises own flights.
- Hotel charge. Partner hotel suite rate is paid directly to the hotel by the patient. The clinic books and coordinates but does not bill the hotel within the surgery quote.
- Personal expenses. Meals outside the hotel, sightseeing, etc.
- Travel insurance. Strongly recommended; arranged by patient.
Why does Istanbul cost significantly less than the UK, Germany, or USA?
The price differential is not because of lower quality — same implants, JCI-accredited hospitals, board-certified surgeons. The difference is structural:
- Lower operating costs: Hospital, staff, and clinic overhead are substantially lower in Türkiye than in Western Europe or North America.
- No insurance overhead: Aesthetic surgery in Türkiye is direct-pay; no insurance billing infrastructure cost is built into the price.
- Currency favourable to international patients: Most international patients pay in EUR or USD against TRY-denominated costs.
- High volume of medical tourism: Established infrastructure for international patients reduces per-patient overhead.
It is reasonable for a UK or US patient to find that combined mommy makeover in Istanbul, including travel and hotel, costs less than the surgeon's fee alone in their home country.
What to watch out for in lower quotes
Some Istanbul quotes look attractively low. When comparing, verify the following are explicitly included:
- Surgeon credentials: Is the operating surgeon a board-certified plastic surgeon (TPRECD specialty certificate, EBOPRAS, or FACS), or a general surgeon performing aesthetic procedures? This is a fundamental safety question.
- Hospital accreditation: Is the operation performed at a JCI-accredited or A+ accredited private hospital, or at a smaller clinic without full anaesthesiology backup?
- Implant brand: Premium brands (Mentor, Motiva, Polytech, Allergan) with manufacturer warranty, or unlabelled "EU certified" implants?
- Anaesthesia: Board-certified anaesthesiologist present throughout, or local anaesthesia plus sedation only (unsafe for major surgery)?
- Number of nights at hospital: Mommy makeover requires inpatient observation. Day-case mommy makeover is unsafe.
- Personal follow-up by surgeon: Will the surgeon personally see you daily, or are post-op visits delegated to an assistant?
- Long-term follow-up: Is video follow-up at 1, 3, 6, 12 months included after you fly home?
